Harvard Club Happy Hour a.k.a "Dining Hall with Drinks": What Changed Your Mind This Year?
Friday, December 18, 2026, 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
Remedy Bar, 360 Nueces St STE 30, Austin, TX 78701
Join us for great conversations and to make new connections! Our monthly "Dining Hall with Drinks" happy hour brings back the spirit of those late-night Harvard dining hall debates: casual, wide-ranging, and smarter as more people pull up a chair. Only this time, with cocktails.
This month’s discussion prompt is “What changed your mind this year?”
December is a good month for looking backward, so instead of arguing about where the world is headed we are going to ask a harder question about ourselves.
What did you believe in January that you no longer believe in December?
Perhaps a book got to you, or a trip, or one long conversation with someone who had every reason to see it differently. Perhaps you were defending a position confidently in the spring and then quietly stopped. What actually made the difference, and how long did it take you to admit it out loud?
Changing your mind well is a rarer skill than defending a position, and it almost always makes for better conversation. Come with one thing you got wrong this year and be ready to discuss.
Whether you arrive with a genuine change of heart or with a conviction you are ready to defend against all comers, bring your questions and your opinions. Expect surprising perspectives from fellow alumni across a wide range of fields and Harvard schools.
As always, the prompt is just a starting point. You are welcome to talk about anything and everything else that interests you.
Sample our club's signature cocktail and grab a bite to eat on your own tab. This event is free, and no RSVP is needed. Just come by!
