Elijah Performance: An Invitation from Chorus Austin

Chorus Austin is giving a concert performance of Elijah on May 2nd and 3rd, 2014 at 8pm.  Elijah is a masterpiece oratorio for choir and orchestra, based on biblical story, composed by one of the great European masters Felix Mendelssohn. Chorus Austin, an award-winning civic choir in Austin/Central Texas has been brought to musical growth in recent years and critical acclaim by its Artistic Director Ryan Heller.  Under Maestro Heller’s button Chorus Austin won 2013 Chorus America/ASCAP Alice Parker Award for its performance of The Unutterable, written by one of this country’s most esteemed composers, Harvard graduate Dr. Robert Kyr.

There is a reception to follow at which guests will have an opportunity to meet Maestro Heller, professional soloists and members of the Chorus among whom are graduates of Harvard, Yale, MIT, and Stanford as well as professionally trained musicians.
