Our tasting excursions usually involve a white and several reds. Our feedback has told us that we should focus on reds. As they say, for those that can't decide...there is always "rosé" :-). We're not tasting rosé...at least not anytime soon.
We are going to start with a Prosecco to cleanse the palate (yes I know this is a white wine!), and then move to pairs of reds for a side by side tasting. There will be many surprises in terms of perceived cost/quality and taste. We of course will be tasting "blind" so the marketing can't influence your judgment.
As always, the only goal is to find a wine or two that you like for a reasonable cost. If you have fun and meet some new friends, all the better. We intend to taste 4 "flights" (that will be 8 individual wine tastings plus one glass of Prosecco. We will also have food pairings to go with each flight. This will not be dinner, but it will accentuate the wine.
There is an ABSOLUTE limit of 28 people (due to the size of the house and the number of tasting glasses per bottle). We are also opening this up to non-singles since we got so many requests from our married wine drinkers.
Cost is $25 per person (includes wine and food pairing) in advance to hold your place via PayPal or check (via snail mail made out to Cornell University). Please list any food allergies that we should avoid and for those that don't imbibe alcohol, reduced pricing for selection of non-alcoholic drinks. Come join the fun.
