Harvard’s Annual Global Month of Service

Harvard Club Event

Join fellow alumni in supporting the Handbags for Hope program!

The Harvard Club of Austin is once again teaming up with the Texas Advocacy Project by helping with the Project's annual Handbags for Hope program. The Texas Advocacy Project provides free legal services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking.

Handbags for Hope is a wonderful program that helps to bring a little joy into the lives of women and children living in domestic violence shelters. New and gently used purses are collected and prepared then distributed to shelters across Texas. Children in the shelters select a purse to give to their mother for Mother's Day.

There are two ways you can support this worthwhile program:

1. Join fellow volunteers for a slot on April 24, 25, or 26 between 10am and 2pm at the Texas Advocacy Project to help sort, clean, label and pack purses. Any amount of time you can share to participate in this project is greatly appreciated. You may also bring any purse donations you have with you on these dates.

2. If you cannot make one of the times on April 24-26, you can still contribute by donating new or gently used purses to the Project's office at 1524 S. IH 35, Suite 350, Austin, TX 78704.  Please give Catherine Hood-Foster, TAP Office Manage and Volunteer Coordinator, a heads up if you are stopping by to donate purses at (512) 225-9584.

Additional donation sites and other program details can be found on the Texas Advocacy Project's Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/events/527584187357490/?ref=22
